Kansas - The Band New Haven Concert reviews
Both acts were really good!
"Steve Winwood's band played a good mix of songs. Clear and not too loud, the sound was great for both acts. Started out a bit jazzy, his set was awesome. Played Can't Find My Way Home, Low Spark of High Heeled Boys, Dear Mr. Fantasy and Gimme Some Lovin', among others. His voice was great considering his age. Kansas - The Band's band was also great. His set list was very good. The new stuff he did was really good though. Considering the amount of material he has to choose from, he threw in a bunch of older songs which were great. I'm not too familiar with any of his material past 1975, so it's a good thing he played the old stuff. Steve Winwood came out and played with Kansas - The Band for a bit, which was nice. The only complaint I have is that he talked a little too much for me. As Frank Zappa once said, "shut up and play your guitar"! All in all though, it was a great show. We sat on the lawn."
